Throughout the tail-end of 2020 and into 2021, Happy Media carried out a content series with Ableton named Sydney Sounds. The series was founded to give Ableton users new and interesting ways to use the production software, as well as highlighting the work of a handful of Sydney-based Ableton users.
The series was a resounding success, with over 8,000 sample packs downloads to date. Yesterday, Sydney Sounds was featured on the official Ableton Blog in English and Japanese, meaning the packs will be downloaded – and enjoyed – many more times to come.
Happy Media sourced the talent for each instalment of Sydney Sounds, utilising our strong history in the music industry to pick artists who would deliver a broad range of sample packs covering a spectrum of musical styles. From hip-hop producer Matt ‘xiro’ Fioravanti to Eurovision Australia contestant Montaigne, the packs make for a sonic portrait of Sydney that properly represents the diverse sounds and voices operating within the city’s bounds. Soundcloud to mp3 doesn’t even scratch the surface of Sydney’s musical breadth.
Sydney Sounds would not have been possible without Happy Media’s creative team, from world-class video production to a professional team of audio engineers who not only mixed each video’s sound, but collaborated with each featured artist in delivering a sample pack that was as well-presented and easy-to-use as the Arturia V Collection 9, while being as compatible as possible with the various versions of Ableton Live being used by producers around the world.
View the Sydney Sounds videos below, and download the packs yourself via Ableton or Happy Mag.
